Hey guys!
It’s Friday! And the weekend is almost here!
I wanted to share an incredible legal post I read. It’s literally the best thing I’ve read since the latest indictment, and I’ve read a lot. lol
This column I read two days ago is one that I can’t stop thinking about. It’s so dead on that you just can’t stop thinking how true it is.
The column is titled: Trump’s toast, folks.
And the crazy thing about this column is it doesn’t even address the facts. The facts are stacked horribly against Trump. He barely has a legal defense against any of these indictments. They’re an uphill fight on a bad day.
BUT…
This conservative attorney (with deep legal roots) spells out why Trump is going to end up in prison, even besides that. (Like, for sure.) And it’s all because of Trump’s character.
Check this out and hang with me a second.
He starts his column by saying:
Up until now, I’ve been hesitant to predict how the various prosecutions of Donald Trump are likely to turn out. But no longer. I believe yesterday’s indictment in Georgia sealed Trump’s fate, and it is now all but certain that he will be convicted of multiple felonies in one or more of the four pending cases against him.
The attorney, Clark Neily, then explains why Trump won’t survive the four cases. Neily explains that:
Trump lies all the time, and he’ll end up lying to his attorneys. (Or not disclosing and telling them the full truth.) This is a deadly sin when you’re trying to survive a legal proceeding against top-notch, experienced investigators.
Trump hates the detailed, rigorous process of anything. He’s literally Mr. Distracted. Mr Let’s Go Tweet Something. Mr. Live By the Seat of His Pants. Mr. Watch Cable TV Every Morning While President. (Remember the infrastructure plan everyone wanted to pass, including him, but which he could never focus on for more than ten minutes?) Trump will do the same in these cases.
And Trump will pour gas on this already very-dangerious fire to his freedom.
As Neily writes:
Trump doesn’t play it straight—he never has, and it appears he’s constitutionally incapable of doing so. So he will lie: in court, in public, on social media and—fatally—to his own lawyers. Simply put, Trump’s defense teams will not be able to keep track of all the different positions their client has taken (or directed his various lawyers to take in different proceedings), and eventually things will come completely unraveled. Judges will become increasingly disgusted by the shenanigans and stop giving Trump any benefit of the doubt; there will also be internecine squabbling among members of his defense teams, and some will likely quit when they refuse to execute some of their client’s more unethical demands or realize that he has no qualms about taking them down with him when the time comes.
One last point. These three dynamics are not isolated and discrete; instead, they’re dynamic and mutually reinforcing. Being an inveterate liar is a major liability in litigation. So is being openly disdainful of the entire process. And so is complexity. But put all three of those together at the same time for the same defendant, and his goose is cooked. So you can put a fork in Donald Trump—he’s done.
The column is worth a read if you get a moment: Trump’s toast, folks.
What do you all think?
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my books. I’ve written 12 of them: a CIA/Marine sniper series, a detective series, a private investigator series, an action-packed Western, a motivational self-help book about President Obama, and two realistic war novels: one about World War II and one about Afghanistan. You can find all of these books on Amazon.
Bold article. The justice system will turn. All we can do as citizens is vote. Take care.
