So… It’s been a big week. lol
And that’s certainly the understatement of the century.
But, President Trump was charged for the third time and if you haven’t read the indictment, I suggest you do. It’s only 45 pages, double-spaced, so it’s more like 20 or so.
And it’s riveting and easy to read. (You can read it here.) And truthfully, you only need to read about 10 pages of it and can scan/skip other parts.
There’s so much shocking information in it, but the thing that stood out to me is just how many told him he was wrong.
We’re talking his own staff — who he hand-picked and selected (he only hires the “BEST.”)
We’re talking political pro’s from his campaign.
We’re talking about his hand-picked attorney general (Bill Barr).
All of them were like:
“Boss, you lost. Like, I wish it wasn’t true, but you did.”
Here’s a look at that list from the indictment:
So, Trump is going to have to somehow in court say that all of these people were wrong, but that dopes like Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Team Crazy were right.
It’s, uh, not going to go well.
Especially when the state election officials and legislators are flown into court and say ON THE STAND under oath…
“I’ve been a life-long Republican, I love Donald Trump, I voted for him twice, I wish he had won, but he didn’t win in Arizona or Michigan or Pennsylvania or Georgia (or insert your state of choice).”
It’s going to be heartfelt testimony and some may get emotional or shed tears — because many have had their lives destroyed and been run out of the party they spent their lives helping build up by a man who was a Democrat in 2009, less than 10 years before he took over the Republican Party.
In the end, though…. Ultimately, Trump is going to go down.
If he were smart, he’d plea bargain. But… he’s not smart.
And slowly but surely his support will drain from him. Not the crazy radical supporters. They will always believe in their messiah.
But the more squishy ones.
He’ll probably still win the primary, though I’m not as certain about that as I was a week ago. See this drop in support (and I’ll bet new polls will show even more.)
But let’s be real. Those who know Donald Trump are abandoning him. They know he’s a fraud, a conman, a liar; that he’s heartless, cruel, and cold.
Even his own family isn’t showing up in court with him.
Not his wife.
Not his sons.
Not his daughter.
The man is increasingly seen as the loud-mouthed has been. We all know this type.
The ones who won’t shut up about their past baseball career, war experience, or in this case: lame Presidency.
If I had more good in me, I’d feel some sympathy toward him.
But I can’t do that as a prior Marine who took an oath to defend this country. Not when this man is still encouraging violence against our country. Not when he’s still telling lies. Not when he’s — GUARANTEED — going to wreck more lives among his supporters by encouraging them (and using them) to do really stupid things.
Not only that, he’ll continue to drain people (who have very little resources or money) of their limited monthly income, all in a vain effort to help prop up his final (and increasingly more desperate) legal defenses.
If he had some good in him, he wouldn’t continue to encourage violence in others, he would admit his mistakes, and accept a plea bargain (and maybe focus on his presidential library, or learn to paint, or go kitesurfing).
But, he won’t, so he’s going to go down. And he’ll eventually be completely alone (once the donations and legal fees dry up, because most of those around him now are grifters).
And he will eventually learn that there are more important things in life than power, money, and fame.
That friends, family, truth, love, and faith — all those boring things most take for granted? They matter.
They matter a lot.
Especially when you’re facing decades in prison.
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my books. I’ve written 12 of them: a CIA/Marine sniper series, a detective series, a private investigator series, an action-packed Western, a motivational self-help book about President Obama, and two realistic war novels: one about World War II and one about Afghanistan. You can find all of these books on Amazon.
I love your suggestion that Trump take up painting. Regardless of artistic quality, his paintings would sell like hotcakes and he could forge a new career path.
