“John Gotti never even had 4 indictments at once!”
That really is quite the statement, right?
Maybe this should tell you something…
But first, here’s Kimberly Guilfoyle literally saying that. It’s almost worth watching the video to see the exasperation.
After hearing that, I had to knock the dust off my memory of the real John Gotti, who was also known as "The Dapper Don" (for how he dressed) and later given the nickname "The Teflon Don."
Gotti was not only an American gangster and boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, he also faced three high-profile trials in the 1980s.
Incredibly, despite federal conviction rates typically running about 90 percent leading to conviction, Gotti was cleared of all three!
One small asterisk to that though: it was later revealed that the trials had been tainted by jury tampering, juror misconduct, and witness intimidation.
A decade later, Gotti was convicted of five murders, conspiracy to commit murder, racketeering, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, illegal gambling, extortion, and loansharking. He received life in prison without parole, was transferred to United States Penitentiary, Marion, and died of throat cancer in 2002.
I’m not sure Trump wants to be associated with Gotti, but here we are. And before I get to my final point, let me address Guilfoyle’s comment that this is only happening because the Left is scared of Trump winning.
Uh, no. No we’re not.
We are not worried about beating Trump or MAGA at the polls.
We have been laying the smack down quite easily, honestly, in the last five elections ( 2018, 2020, 2022 in red-state Kansas, 2023 in Wisconsin, and now in red-state Ohio).
The best thing for our side (though I’m in the middle) is for Trump to run again. But none of us want that because any GOP nominee could win. The economy could tank, other factors could come into play, etc.
So, it’s not a lot of fun playing roulette and putting a gun to democracy’s head (because maybe we lose the sixth election because of complacency or a third-party candidate funded by undisclosed people).
Also, Trump doesn’t believe in election results and never has. (Trump during the 2016 primary repeatedly slammed the “rigged system” he claimed was working against his campaign to capture the Republican nomination for president).
We don’t want his retribution or support his PUBLICLY-STATED (are you paying attention???!!!) call to terminate the Constitution.
Honest to goodness, though, back to the Gotti thing, it seems like only a gangster would…
Try to tear up the rule book (Constitution).
Threaten witnesses, judges, and public officials (in Georgia and elsewhere).
Demand loyalty from those under him.
Put money above all else.
Claim he was a Christian (despite no ability to correctly quote scripture and stating he’s never asked for forgiveness — also, that he doesn’t have much to ask for forgiveness for).
Trump is, of course, innocent until proven guilty. And maybe he will “pull a Gotti” and beat three indictments (if not four).
But if I were him, I think I would finally start reading that Bible and seriously consider asking a lot of people for forgiveness (including the Man above). Because based on the statistics alone, he’s going to need a miracle to beat these charges and/or win the election.
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell
