It's not Dems who should be worried
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
Wanted to share a couple of things to hopefully help lift your mood.
On the Presidential race front, a quick reminder that at this time in Obama’s term, his polling was just as bad as Joe Biden’s currently is. And things worked out okay with Obama in his re-election efforts. (Interestingly, the economy was struggling at that point in Obama’s Presidency but continued to improve as the election season progressed. I think the same thing will happen this time.)
And while there are doubts about Biden’s age, let’s not forget how the rightwing ecosystem works. Remember how they trashed Hillary’s health, too?
Molly Jong-Fast said it best, so I’ll just share her words.
Speaking of Presidential situations, I’m more convinced than ever that Trump is doomed in the courts.
Besides the weak legal arguments his team keeps making. Besides the admissions of guilt he’s making in TV interviews that will be used against him. Besides the constant firing and changing of his legal team. And besides the reality that it won’t be a fair fight because the facts aren’t even close to being on his side.
Did you guys see who Jack Smith recently brought on his team?
Check out how talented and experienced this attorney is. From Politico:
Special counsel Jack Smith has added a veteran war crimes prosecutor — who served as Smith’s deputy during his stint at the Hague — to his team as it prepares to put former President Donald Trump on trial in Washington and Florida.
Alex Whiting worked alongside Smith for three years, helping prosecute crimes against humanity that occurred in Kosovo in the late 1990s. The Yale-educated attorney also worked as a prosecutor with the International Criminal Court from 2010 to 2013. He has taught law classes at Harvard since 2007 as well, hired as an assistant professor by then-Dean Elena Kagan — now a Supreme Court justice — and rising to a visiting professorship in 2013.
Would you want to be in Trump’s shoes right now? He’s absolutely correct to be worried about going to prison. (91 charges against him. 44 federal charges and 47 state charges — all of them felonies.)
He’s got The Wall Street Journal in an editorial calling him a chicken, who’s also old.
“What is the former president afraid of?” The Wall Street Journal asked Wednesday in an editorial slamming Donald Trump’s “ducking” of the Republican debates while roasting his policy comments.
The outlet, which is known to lean conservative in its opinion section, ripped the four-times-indicted GOP front-runner for skipping another debate next week. “Why is Mr. Trump afraid to confront other Republicans without the aid of a teleprompter? Is he worried he’d look his age at 77 next to younger candidates?” the Journal wrote.
And he’s got the House Republicans heading full speed for a government shutdown, which will help guarantee more Republican losses next year — including Trump’s very own loss, if he’s lucky enough to make it to the end.
Why are Democrats bed-wetting again?
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my books. I’ve written 12 of them: a CIA/Marine sniper series, a detective series, a private investigator series, an action-packed Western, a motivational self-help book about President Obama, and two realistic war novels: one about World War II and one about Afghanistan. You can find all of these books on Amazon.
