Another day, another Donald Trump attorney admitting that they lied and helped make up the entire fabrication of a stolen election.
This time, we’re talking about Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, who pleaded guilty in the Georgia Trump election case.
She joins two other Trump-allied lawyers (Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro). Plus, let’s not forget that there’s also another person who had pleaded guilty: Georgia bail bondsman Scott Hall.
That puts us at up to four.
There will be more, of course, because unlike Trump, these people have a better grasp on reality (and the mountain of legal evidence and facts against them) — even if they did veer into delusions of grandeur and false lies for a while.
In fact, in most federal cases, 98 percent of defendants end up in a plea bargain.
You know, I wrote a VERY tough piece about Sidney Powell when she pleaded guilty. And I had a commenter mention that the piece was pretty tough for me, since I do typically try to be nicer than most. (That’s part of what I hope sets this political blog apart.)
As the comment above says, I truly do believe to whom much is given, much is required.
Clearly, Donald Trump is a loud buffoon. He doesn’t know history. He doesn’t know military matters (or “more than the Generals”). He barely knows business, given the number of bankruptcies, lawsuits, and fraud charges behind him.
As I wrote in the column, Trump is just a dude who got a ton of money handed to him by his father ($413 million in 2018 prices), who was put on a reality TV show, and who bullied a bunch of weak GOP contenders back in 2016, before then running against a woman who had had more than 30 years of hatred, falsehoods, and venom slung at her. She also was terrible at campaigning, but I digress.
Sidney Powell knew better. She’s educated. She knows the courts. She knows the laws.
Jenna Ellis knew better. She’s educated. She knows the courts. She knows the laws.
Kenneth Chesebro knew better. He’s educated. He knows the courts. He knows the laws.
Back to the larger point, however, I see how this might all play out in my head now — which is something I’ve struggled to see to this point.
You’ve got Ex-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows spilling the beans, admitting he was lying in the past in public and in his book. More about his falsehoods and lies will finally come out.
You’re going to have most of these Georgia cases pleading guilty, and agreeing to testify against Trump. (Maybe as many as 16 or 17 of the original 18, leaving Trump and probably Rudy Giuliani.)
And in the end, as more plead and more actual facts come out, you’ll see a bit more of Trump’s supporters move away.
Not his true MAGA base — they’ll never leave. But just enough to ensure he won’t win re-election. (I personally had a friend who voted for him in 2016 and 2020 admit to me just last week she was done with him. My thought was,“Finally!” But I definitely didn’t say that. We need to welcome into the fold all who are ready to return. No spiking of the ball or rubbing it in.)
This falling off of support will grow when there’s a publicized TV trial in Georgia — probably the biggest court case in American history. Think the OJ trial, but on steroids.
Plus, there are all the other cases. (Quick recap: he’s about to lose his entire business empire in the New York case; he faces federal prison in the D.C. case for the Jan. 6 insurrection and also federal prison in the stolen documents case in Florida; and in this Georgia case we’re discussing, he doesn’t even have a pardon option if either he or another Republican gets elected in 2024).
Trump’s empire will be dismembered, sold off to pay for the case he’s already lost in New York.
Trump’s most loyal attorneys and inner circle, including chief of staff Mark Meadows, will be saying publicly that Trump is a liar and that he lost the 2020 election. (Same as 60-plus court cases have said; same as the sham audit paid for by Trump and the GOP determined in Arizona, which actually awarded Biden even more votes.)
Trump will look like a man who never tells the truth, who’s facing 91 felonies, and who has no chance of avoiding serious legal peril.
And maybe then we’ll finally be done with the fast-talking loudmouth from New York, who dodged the draft and made fun of war heroes.
The moment can’t come soon enough. Both for our country and for Ukraine and for democracies around the world. And also for the unity that we must at some point pursue again as a country.
Jenna Ellis went from ripping this country apart, saying such horrible lies this:
Ellis acknowledged making 10 “misrepresentations” on television and Twitter during Trump’s fight to stay in power. … The statements include claiming on Jeanine Pirro’s Fox News show on Dec. 5, 2020 that “we have over 500,000 votes (in Arizona) that were cast illegally” and telling the conservative network Newsmax on Dec. 15 that Trump was “the true and proper victor.”
To crying and asking for forgiveness in the courtroom for her terrible lies.
In the end, we will need a lot more crying and asking for forgiveness, but I believe that will come. And I believe I can finally see how it will eventually happen.
What do you think?
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my books. I’ve written 12 of them: a CIA/Marine sniper series, a detective series, a private investigator series, an action-packed Western, a motivational self-help book about President Obama, and two realistic war novels: one about World War II and one about Afghanistan. You can find all of these books on Amazon.
Isn’t it time to have a lot more ink on how so many people have become so firmly convinced that the con man is God’s man? An insistent drumbeat of propaganda on tv and radio, not by just one but by many Tuckers. Who are these people, what do they really believe, who is paying them?
I can understand being disturbed by the rising tide of purple haired lesbians with silver snot dripping out of their nostrils (that’s what nose beads look like to me) and leering queers prancing proudly in parades, but to respond to that by putting faith in one of the worst liars in American history, is just… insane.
Seriously. The End has to be near.
