Hello friends,
As you know, I love sharing good, positive news that helps us keep our political sanity in this turbulent time that we live in America.
And I also like to share things that help you see further ahead than most of those see around you.
In that line of thinking, I wanted to share something that former Republican Congressman and political commentator Joe Scarborough shared today. He’s the host of Morning Joe on MSNBC and he’s correctly predicted a LOT of things in the roughly ten years I’ve been listening to him.
Joe Scarborough said today that because the Iowa legislature passed a six-week abortion ban, he now believes Iowa and Ohio could now be in play. (You can hear his remarks here, at about the 31:15 mark, but he doesn’t really go in depth on them.)
As a reminder, in 2020, here’s how those two states voted:
Iowa: 53.1% to Trump.
Ohio: 53.27% to Trump.
So, if they were to flip to Dems/Biden, the election would be an electoral landslide.
And yet it kind of feels that way, doesn’t it?
More people are coming to grips with Biden’s age. And as former U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said today, no one says Warren Buffet or Rupert Murdoch are too old to run their companies.
By the way, both men are 92.
And it’d be different if Trump was much younger — say in his 40s or 50s.
Instead, Trump is 77.
Trump also is up to 71 on his felony count, but he’ll probably clear a hundred on that number in the next couple of months.
The other great piece of news is that the DeSantis train is almost completely off the tracks.
The money is drying up. The media is, too.
Here’s just an example from today. Yikes.
Moving along, do you long-time subscribers remember this?
Remember when I asked three months ago if it was too soon to write off DeSantis?
I hate to say I was right about that, but I think I might’ve been even back then.
Back to the primary point. Iowa and Ohio?
Is that possible?
Let me know below in the comments.
Love and peace,
Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. Don’t forget to check out my books. I’ve written 11 of them: a CIA/Marine sniper series, a detective series, a private investigator series, an action-packed Western, a motivational self-help book about President Obama, and two realistic war novels: one about World War II and one about Afghanistan. You can find all of these books on Amazon.
Not much. The vote tally on the machine in Batavia (which I believe is for all of very red Clermont County) was around 17k when I scanned my ballot, which I thought seemed high for the second day of early voting, but what do I know? There was no line at 1:15 pm today. I was delivering eggs this morning and saw very few yard signs out on my travel path. Just two for NO in Clermont County and only one for YES in Anderson Township, Hamilton County (somewhat pricier suburb of Cinci). While in the elections office to vote I did offer up to help with polls on the 8th if they are short as I know Dem/Ind are hard to find around here. I'll let you know if I get called up or get any more intel.
I am from Ohio and I think it is possible. Getting the maps issue addressed would definitely help, but even without that I think we can get it done. The results from the current Issue 1 Ballots will tell us a lot, so let's check back in on Aug 9th.
