Some important insights from last night's contentious debate
Hi friends!
As I’m sure you know, last night was the epic (and probably only) debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
If you missed it, you should watch it if you can. It’s beyond informative on so many different levels.
But more than likely, you’ve watched it or seen clips from it, so let’s proceed shall we?
The big question most people ask after a debate is who won?
The Washington Post, noting that debate performances may not shift polls much, reported that polls show Harris bested Trump. (See below.)
Most conservatives blamed the moderators. Here are a couple of examples:
But the fact is that conservatives seem to realize that things didn’t go the way they had hoped.
Here’s a screenshot from the Drudge Report last night.
And here’s Fox News:
Here’s long-time Fox news guy Chris Wallace on CNN:
This seemed to be the Harris strategy, which she effectively employed:
And her strategy did seem to knock him off his game.
Trump definitely went after a line of attack that some saw as risky. He pushed this story: Trump pushes baseless claim at debate about immigrants 'eating the pets.’ And even conservative Erick Erickson wasn’t happy about this:
We’ll see what effect the debate has on the race.
It definitely had a HUGE viewership.
And Trump is 100 percent convinced he won.
But besides the debate, one other huge thing that happened last night, and that was the Taylor Swift endorsement.
Full endorsement by her:
And if you want more insight on the debate from journalists, here’s an article that shows some of the key points.
Okay, enough politics. Let’s move along.
Words of encouragement:
Let’s end the post with some words of encouragement, because I know that life is hard and sometimes, you just need to hear something that will lift you up.
I always like to share some verses from the Bible, or quotes that touch on the Bible/Jesus, because my Christian faith has become such a source of strength and wisdom and calm for me during the past couple of years, since losing my Mom and now worrying an awful lot about my Dad and his serious memory problems.
I’m betting you have something really challenging going on in your life, as well. (And if you don’t, I can guarantee it’s coming. That’s how life goes.) So, I hope by sharing some of these, it might encourage you to get into the Bible yourself. Because I think it’ll change your life, if you let it.
And, I always like to end each post with this one:
All posts are free, so feel free to share. (And in that line of thinking, it seems the social media sites throttle down my posts when they have a link to Substack, so if you could forward this to a person — or two — who might be interested, it’d sure help me a lot!)

I've also written twelve fast, exciting books.
Finally, I also write a faith blog about God and the Bible. (As a child, I was wounded badly by the church and left it to study other religions, before returning to the faith of my roots.)
